Herbs, spices, and flavorings can add that little something extra to beer brewing. Which herbs, spices, and flavorings you add to your beer is entirely up to you. Create your own bouquet or choose just one herb or spice specifically. Coriander is one of the most commonly used spices in beer. Winter warmers like cinnamon, cardamom, and star anise are also popular. Licorice root, elderflower, ginger, lemon peel, juniper berries, and even chili pepper—you can experiment with virtually any herb or spice.
