Columbus 2023 100g Hop Pellets

Columbus is a great dual-purpose hop in beer, as it brings a bitter kick as well as a strong aroma. It has an alpha value in the 14-18% range, making it well suited to laying the bitter foundation in beers such as Pale Ale, IPA and Imperial Stout. In the same capacity, this hop is also used towards the end of the boil and as a dry hop to provide an earthy herbal character along with a subdued citrus aroma.

Packaging:
The hops are gently weighed, nitrogen flushed and sealed in light-tight aluminum-coated packaging for optimal shelf life.
Flushing with nitrogen displaces oxygen that would otherwise degrade the quality of the hops. This method lowers the oxygen content in the bag to 0.6-0.8% oxygen which is very good for preserving quality/taste/aroma. The hop bag is stored cool at <4 degrees Celsius.

The opened bag is squeezed together and closed with a ziplock for further storage in the refrigerator.
