Alora 2024 100g Hop Pellets

Alora™ is best known for its unique oil composition. Unlike most hop varieties that contain what we in the industry call the “big 8” oil groups (pinene, myrcene, limonene, linalool, caryophyllene, farnesene, humulene and geraniol), Alora™ contains over 50% of unidentified total oil which is unusual in hop chemistry. Further analysis has revealed that a large proportion of this “unidentified” category type is seline – a sesquiterpene rarely found in hops. This rare chemical property found in Alora™ contributes to its unique flavor/aroma composition. Seline is a low volatility compound that imparts a distinct citrus character directly to the finished beer, and can be found in fruits such as calamondin oranges and yuzu fruit.

Packaging:
The hops are gently weighed, nitrogen flushed and sealed in light-tight aluminum-coated packaging for optimal shelf life.
Flushing with nitrogen displaces oxygen that would otherwise degrade the quality of the hops. This method lowers the oxygen content in the bag to 0.6-0.8% oxygen which is very good for preserving quality/taste/aroma. The hop bag is stored cool at <4 degrees Celsius.

The opened bag is squeezed together and closed with a ziplock for further storage in the refrigerator.
