Southern Star is an African hop with high alpha acid content. It has a fine aroma with hints of orange, blueberry, tropical fruit, pineapple, watermelon, and a touch of spice. It is excellent for modern IPAs and can also be used as a bittering hop for a clean bitterness.

The hops are carefully weighed, nitrogen-flushed, and sealed in a light-proof, aluminum-coated package for optimal shelf life.
Flushing with nitrogen displaces oxygen, which would otherwise degrade the quality of the hops. This method reduces the oxygen content in the package to 0.6-0.8%, which is excellent for preserving quality, flavor, and aroma. The hops package should be stored in a cool place at <4 degrees Celsius.
Once opened, the package should be compressed and sealed with a zip-lock for continued storage in the refrigerator.
