DRC® from Simpsons Malt is a specialty malt developed through a unique production process that provides deep color and rich flavor without the astringent bitterness that often accompanies dark, roasted malts.

The malt contributes a complex caramel character along with distinct notes of dried fruit such as plum and raisin, as well as a beautiful reddish-brown color to the beer. It can be used in larger proportions than many other dark malts when more malt complexity is desired without a strong toasted note.

Well suited to beer styles such as pale ale, British strong ale and Belgian abbey beers.

Recommended use: approx. 3-20% of the malt base
