Black Velvet Oatmeal Stout
The recipe is inspired by classic oatmeal stouts, where dark malts and oats provide a rich and rounded character. Roasted barley and chocolate malt add deep color and complex tones, while oat flakes contribute to a creamy head and silky mouthfeel - typical of the style.
Style: Oatmeal Stout
Alcohol content: approx. 7.3%.
IBU: approx. 55 – slightly/moderately bitter. Color: 83 EBC - red-black/brown-black
Contains ready-brewed wort for 20 liters of beer
Instructions:
- Pour the wort into your fermentation vessel
- Top up with clean water to 20 liters total volume.
- Add yeast
- Put on lid and yeast lock
- Follow the included instructions regarding recommended fermentation temperature.
Included:
Yeast: Lallemand Nottingham
Fermented at approx. 20°C
Add 6g sugar per liter of beer when bottling, and let it carbonate at 20-28°C for about 14 days before storing in a cool place.
