FWK Creative Light Classic Fresh Wort Kit
Here is FWK Creative Lys Classic, a light base suitable for brewing pilsner, light ale, or similar styles. You get to decide how to proceed with your choice of yeast, dry hops, and any other creative touches. We encourage experimentation!
Yeast and dry hops are not included and must be ordered separately.
Please note that this product comes with Norwegian description on the box label, and a Norwegian instruction is included inside the box.
The wort in FWK Creative Lys Classic is brewed with 92% Pilsner malt, 5% Vienna malt, and 3% Munich Light. Magnum hops are used at 60 minutes of the boil, and Saaz is added in the whirlpool during brewing.
You can decide whether to add water based on your desired outcome.
Estimated Values:
(20 liters is the standard method for the Fresh Wort Kit)
- 15 liters (no added water): ABV 6.8%, OG 1.062, FG 1.010*, IBU 32, EBC 10
- 20 liters (add 5 liters of water): ABV 5.3%, OG 1.047, FG 1.007*, IBU 28, EBC 9
- 25 liters (add 10 liters of water): ABV 4.7%, OG 1.042, FG 1.006*, IBU 23, EBC 7
*When using Fermentis US-05 yeast.
Endless Possibilities for Experimentation!
Here are some ideas:
- Hops: Add any hops of your choice for extra aroma.
- Souring: Use Philly Sour yeast.
- Low-carb: Add Amigase for full attenuation.
- Gluten-reduced: Add Brewer’s Clarex.
- Increased strength: Skip adding water or add extra fermentable sugars (e.g., malt extract).
- Lactose: Enhances smoothness and sweetness.
- Other additions: Oak, coffee, spices, orange peel, fruit/purée, cacao nibs…
Hop and Yeast Suggestions:
As mentioned, we encourage experimentation. However, having some concrete suggestions can also be helpful. Here are some ideas:
- Pilsner: Brew a crisp pilsner by adding Saflager S-189/W34/70 yeast or opt for a more flavorful and crisp profile with LalBrew Diamond Lager.
- Sour: Create a fresh sour by pitching Philly Sour, letting it work for 3-4 days, then adding US-05 yeast. Flavor with fruit purées like raspberry or passion fruit—sour fruits pair exceptionally well in these styles! Experiment freely—there are endless possibilities!
- Kölsch: Use K-97 yeast for a fantastic, flavorful Kölsch.
- Blonde Ale: Use US-05 yeast and dry-hop with 100g of Citra, Mosaic, or El Dorado for an exciting twist!
FWK Creative is also excellent for using up leftover hops!
