Carbonation keg lid

"This is a great piece of kit that definitely carbonates the kegs much better and quicker. The only issue is that it did not come with instructions, which makes it a bit more complex to use, also how to clean and store it."

works well, but

"works well, but the tubing supplied was tightly coiled, not allowing the stone to go to the bottom of the keg. I tried hot water on the tube but it still went back to coil. I have weighted the end down with stainless bolts to get it to the bottom of keg."

Better than expected

"Originally purchased to carbonate soda water, have used this twice now with a19Lt Corney keg. Following the enclosed instructions and watching associated video, both attempts have provided better than expected results. Will now be attempting on a Belgium Ale that will be ready in a couple of days. As a tip, as the volume in the keg got lower I transferred some of the carbonated water into clean bottles so that I would have soda water available while I went through the process of carbonating the next keg, approx 24 - 36 hours."

Carbonation Stone for Corny Keg

"Purchased 2 of these recently to help speed up the carbonation process similar to what they do in brewery's . I'm disappointed that I didn't buy these earlier in my brewing career. Such a safer way to carbonating beers than rolling the keg and over carbonating . After a bit of research online I've pretty much mastered the process."

Q&A

how long should I leave the beer at desired PSI pressure once I reach it?
Until it is gone!
Would i be right in saying if i set my pressure to 10 Psi on the keg, then apply between 16-18 Psi on the Carb Stone and let it bubble away between 1.5 to 2 hours and my keg will be carbonated to around 2.4 volumes ? Thanks
Start at 0psi. Increase in 2-3psi increments, a few minutes at a time, until at the desired pressure. Should only take 20 minutes or so
Do you swap the lid over to the normal one after carbonating or do you need to leave it on?
Up to you! Best practice is to leave the lid on to keep it sealed though
